Just wondering if anyone out there likes to snowshoe. What areas do you like...??? Just ordered myself a new pair of atlas snowshoes, hoping to be able to get out and use them soon. Anyone in the Bend area that would like to go??

    RE: snowshoeing

We rented some to rescue sleds that were lost-buried in that jan. dump of snow. Where we were arm pit deep without we averaged butt deep with. The next week we went we pretty much stayed about ancle to knee deep. That is with backpacks carrying hand winches. Total weight 300 lbs
They are so light you dont know they are on your pack while traveling. Snow slides down hill with extra heavy pack on are special! Try to put one shoe back on in arm pitt snow with a pack on, your other foot still at butt deep!!
They are a lot of fun though, especially when its your buddy stuck with only one shoe..There are some packable stubby downhill skiis that would be alot of fun, the rental place didn't have them, I have never seen them, just heard of it from some insane college kids, and would like to know more?
