There is a GPS map and compass course at KCC but I do not know anything about that class. Start playing with it here in town , then take it to the forest land. You probably have a good map set that shows all the trails, if you don't, get a map set. Use the function to load your tracks onto a computer. View your tracks on google earth. The computer map is where you load email tracks, routes and way points. Play with that until you are comfortable with moving, creating and playing with the data. Store your data here to keep the gps faster.
