****, wish I would have seen this earlier-rode windigo today, there's about 15-17" but it was really only good about a mile on each side of the peak- I think the old snow made a good base around there and I was pulling powder turns on every inch! Feels good to be back out..... Until I got back and loaded up in the dark and realized my sled deck is a foot shorter than I thought it was and stepped right off the back! Luckily my steel loading ramp was there to hit me everywhere I didn't need it too!

you know I actually almost called you... today ended up being a HUGE bust. was all set to head up first thing this morning to ride. got to the shop and there was a small icy pond out back with a nice busted water pipe spraying into the sky every time we replaced one part it leaked somewhere else, suck! so spent most of my day wet and cold, brrrrrr. so much for my first ride, at least I didn't miss much! did get all my stuff out and ready, loaded the sled then unloaded it, does that count as a ride???

Only if you broke something on the sled! Then it counts for a ride!

PS right after I tore up Windigo the groomer came through to pack it down- and no, I'm not kidding you! There's already no fresh in site for the Sandman!!

STOP THE GROOMERS The sworn enemy of all true mountain riders! When taking B to school the other day there was a big charter bus that said MTR Western, I was dying because I didn't have my camera. Maybe that's who they were grooming for... But thanks to the internet look what I just found They have nice clean shiny buses, just like their spotless gear and unscratched sleds

Don't worry about fresh for me, I've got my places no groomer goes Weather is looking good the end of the week, if that doesn't hold think were gonna hit the road.

Mr Sandman: I went right here to see some pics from your first ride.... and U got busted pipes: Turn the heat on at your shop! That bus was probably headed to Diamond full of MTR posers! Sure is cold: 20 or 30 below here last night..... Gonna have to get some hand warmers for the Kawi... And and put some more robes on!

    STOP THE GROOMERS!

There is no hope for us westerners, the snow gods have forsaken us! I did get a couple of bike rides in this weekend. Caught this first pic of old Kris Kringle getting ready to jump to his death after he caught his wife and twin brother Kraig together...

Well well well, the early season naysayers! I just got back from riding the goat road to the picnic table and we had no problem finding untouched powder! I even had enough at some points that my sled was starting to porpoise while going through the powder, true there's not enough to really get off trail yet but we had plenty to get the feel of sledding back!

awesome pics Robert, especially the second one losing interest more and more about sledding everyday. middle of December and my sled is still sitting untouched. gonna be a long time before there's even a chance for any off trail riding. may just skip this season and concentrate on buying a motorhome for this summer. Gonna be looking for a mid 90's 24 foot class c, would like the v10 but will also take a 460. so if anyone knows someone who has one for sale let me know.

Mr Sandman: Did you try any skis?

"Some guys from down here rode off trail all day yesterday. Went to the top of bailey through the trees with no problems" - Me thinks they ought to be preordering front suspension replacement stuff if they are gonna do that!

No, ended up lying in bed until late so rode my bike instead. Trying to get things setup for this weekend.
