With the support of Pacific Skijour and Sled Dog Association (PSSDA) and OSSA i hope to host a sleddog competition march 4-7, 2010 at wanoga sno-park. Certainly we need the support and cooperation of moon country for the short course events. Because the 200 mile competition will travel from wanoga to three creeks, then down cascade lakes hwy to crescent sno-park, walker rim riders trails come into play. Mushers will be required to rest a minimum 6 hours at crescent sno-park or other suitable area for bedding resting teams. On the return to wanoga teams will do a 33 mile loop over kwolh/edison and return to junction 158 and climb cascade lakes hwy for the final leg. should be a good challenge for mushers and dogteams; but it will require a good volunteer base and support from local sno-machine clubs.
Our event application is nearly complete and ready to submit to the forest service. Will walker rim riders consider endorsing this event and help to make it a success in its inaugural effort? :)
