I agree. I bet you won't get two years out of them. That is an awesome sled. I can't believe they can get more weight off of it.
but will it be enough to spank a xp.dont think so:)

keep em' coming ben, i'm too lazy to actually look on facebook for myself:) as for the boards wearing out your boots, they don't last too long when your constantly kicking them out either, so i'd rather them just wear out without all the extra work;)

I'm glad to see they keep pushing the envelope. I think it's pretty widely agreed upon that the current PRO is the top sled out there and they're still working hard to make it better.

No more than any other manufacture asks for their sled. In fact its cheaper than most comparable sleds.
1 new sled is more than a house was 30 years ago.:)
a family of 5 can get into this sport today for a measly $60,000 plus gas.

Or, and I know this may be nearly inconceivable for some, but you could buy a used sled...

Mt sleds are expensive, but you're not buying a track and an engine anymore. Sleds are pretty hi-tech pieces of machinery.
As for the XP vs Pro. I had an 09 600. Loved it. Then went m1000. Just rode my buddy's 2012 XP 800 w/ about $6k in mods including the narrow front end and then rode the 2012 Pro RMK Assault. Sorry Ski Doo guys, that Pro is just an amazing machine. Guy w/ 18K into his XP just bought one. Best sled on the mt. for boondocking and sidehilling...well, haven't ridden the 800 cat yet, but seems the mags aren't all that amazed by it. Might just get one of those 2013 Pro's myself next year.

WOW! Belt drive!?!?

Wow is right! Although I'm not sure I'd want to have the first generation. Might be some bugs they need to work out. And won't it be more difficult i.e. expensive to regear? But again; wow!
I'm probably wrong here, but I was thinking about taking this sled back down a really steep pull and breaking a belt... Wouldn't that be a ride without any brakes?

Wow! That would be hairy! They MUST have some kind of backup. I could imagine the lawsuits flying.

Yeah you'd think if you broke a belt you'd have no breaks.....but we've all been riding that way for years- if our chain breaks we have no breaks...... And I'd wager that belt is less likely to let go than an out of adjustment chain!
Petrolburner

How does the belt not need a tensioner? What keeps it tight, and how do you assemble it if it's that tight?
ill take a guess that it could wear out and bust someday.YAHOO!! bail :)
the end of the jackshaft might be tapered a little.when you pull the top pulley out it lossens up.i could be wrong too:)

There must be some sort of adjustment. Anyway it looks like a great idea. Looks like the timing belt on my truck and that thing is good for 100k miles! I wouldn't worry about the reliability of it. Motorcycles have belt drives too.

I would rather have that happen instead of busting a chain and locking up the track! If you look @ Mod sleds, they have been using them for years with great results!

No adjustment. Just a nice tight belt is all you need.

CMX was smart about there break location! Polaris should have fallowed suit....
Looks allot like the belt drive on my HD a little shorter , been working great for many years .
Looks like the blower drive on a drag car. Me like. :o

Uh Huh! It does look like a blower belt.
I think the belt drive should be OK. Pro Stock drag bikes put out over 300 hp and have belt drives. Then theres the Nitro Harleys that put out close to 1000 hp. They can't harness that much power to the ground without backflipping. The problem is weight. Power to weight ratio is insane. If they ever figure out how to get that much power to the ground; they will be faster than a Top Fuel Dragster.
