Saturday, June 21st is National Trails day for the Fremont/Winema National Forest. This year the work will start at the Great Meadow at 8:30am where we will hold a quick safety meeting and discuss the work which is expected to be performed. The major project this year is to raise the trail elevation by placing fill near Aspen Point Campground. This portion of trail is a snowmobile/mountain bike trail that often times get full of water as the meadow backs up. The FS is having much material dumped near by and we will be placing it on the trail. We would like to have many hands and four wheelers with trailers and shovels and rakes to place this material. If we have many extra people then we will break out to other trail improvement projects. Bring your lunch and water bottle to have a great time and actually see some improvements made to our trail system.
