What a great weekend for snowmobiling. We went to Thousand Springs. A good mix of sun, clouds and some snow on Saturday. It really started coming down Saturday night. I left my trailer and sleds up there and headed home and it was snowing down to my house in White City (elev. approx 1350 feet). Headed back up early this morning. It was snowing from Shady Cove to Union Creek heavily. But once I got to Thousand, the sun came out for awhile. There was probably six inches of powder in the parking area and at least 12 inches up the mountain. So much fun to ride in. Although it snowed most of the day, it was only miserable for about 30 minutes.
Did anyone else besides southern oregon have any new snow???

Wow! We had about 6" at Diamond Lake when we got up Sunday morning too! It had snowed in Roseburg also! Conditions weren't great on Saturday but we managed to ride all day and have a great time. Thought about hanging around for awhile yesterday to ride but it was snowing so hard and just not letting up. It was probably really bad higher up.

It wasn't so bad on Sunday except for a couple of times, probably 30 minutes in all. We even saw the sun on occasion. It was definately worth any discomfort because the riding conditions were awesome. All that new snow on top of a hard base made it pretty difficult to get stuck in. Although I understand these conditions are prime avalanche conditions in steeper areas.
