Is the velcro only good enough or are the snaps needed too for installation of a new Boss Seat?

The velcro works fine. I've even left mine uncovered when transporting it a time or two. It sticks on there pretty danged solid!

You are not kidding! Maybe the left over velcro will serve as a lifting hook for the shop crane to lift the sled!

I am not kidding! I said to myself that once I got the seat I would always cover it for transport (we never covered them on the sled deck last year...stock seat). But last weekend, we drove from Salem to HooDoo and back....no cover. I didn't even think about it until I read this post. ;) Crazy, huh!?

The boss left me with no tail-brake light so I ordered a LED for light weight. The metal brackets probably would be bent to #@! first ride out , a hole in the mudflap seemed extreme, so I went back to velcro to mount the taillight for only when needed! The bar seemed better location wise than the seat or the tunnel. The HID Headlight conversion is for Mountain only and is unreal bright. I have everything to do a AC to DC conversion..thats next. No kidden! I love the seat..tougher, not slippery and comfortable. It slips off to dry out quick. I have a new tunnel, a union bay motor that needs case work, chaincase , suspension and track and lots more to build one from scratch..But I still need a riser and bars, front suspension. Gives one something to think about while enjoying some of the Northwests best! LOL

I know Randy was related to someone in the aftermarket but had no idea
it was this big..and nice stuff. I better give the paycheck to the wife before I look at that again LOL . The tunnel extensions are sweet. There is a lot of cool stuff for yamaha's, and I think your right, that LED rack would probably fit any sled.

That rack is waaaaay cooooool I think! It would fit any thing you have.......

Thats Randy's parents that own the company. I'm going to talk with him about my Mountain Max and see what he has to say about it! I would like to do a longer track and a longer tunnel too. That might be a little bit before I do that LOL.

I can only speak for the RMK (Edge)....adding bar risers meant that I needed a taller seat, so if/and when I sat down, I didn't ride like I was on an ape-hanger harley! They are also CONSIDERABLY lighter than stock seats and are also more narrow, which makes standing more comfortable and climbing over from one side to another less work. I mostly ride standing these days, but it's closer to sit on the Boss than it was on the stock seat. It simply helps to change your riding stance.

Another nice thing is that the trunk is BIG and lined as well. I had the Escape seat, which was also lined, so it certainly wasn't what sold me. I was sold on the height and weight changes it offered. Seriously, it's light enough that I hauled it around the snow-show in Puyallup without any effort....for about 3 hours. And, just asked Tedd....I'm a wimp! ;)

They work a lot better for those of us who crawl all over the sled or ride with a knee on the seat. For those who have had a lot of surgeries they are more comfy. They remove for drying at the cabin. BUT..they don't have a tail light in the seat like some of us have..428cj had me look in the Hartman catalog (Don't do it, we haven't been immunized) They have some slick LED lights..

Ahhhh....I was thinking about that this weekend. I have a hard time standing up, partly because I am a wimp and partly because when I do I am uncomfortable because the handlebars are so low that I am crouching. So I was thinking about risers but then I thought it would be hard to steer sitting down because they would be like ape hangers. This could be one solution.

My other solution is much more expensive!! I got into a bowl Saturday that I couldn't get out of. I would get to the top and not quite have enough momentum to get out and would have to turn out. One of the guys traded sleds with me to get mine out and I got on his and it just floated out. It was an 800 Dragon. Made me think about upgrading sleds and I just got the one I am currently riding in February!!!
