For those who ride this area, the snowpole at the top of Huckleberry was totally buried in snow on Saturday. This is a twelve foot pole and there isn't even a hump where the pole should be!!

I was up at Huckleberry on the 22nd and the pole was still buried. And like you said, the forecast for tomorrow says we will have at least a foot of new snow in the next few days!!

I may run out of money for gas before we run out of snow this year!

One of the groomers who groomed at Thousand Springs today told me that there was about a foot of new snow on the trail since the last grooming two days earlier.

I was told that as of Tuesday there was still snow down to the parking area at Thousand Springs. We shall see if that is still the case on Saturday.

I am going to try and beat this crazy heat (triple digits) by going up for the weekend. Taking the dogs, a good book and a sleeping bag. Will snowmobile in the morning before the snow gets to mushy and relax in the relatively cool mountains in the afternoon/evenings. The highs are forecasted in the low 80's at Thousand and the lows are about 50.

Last time I snowmobiled, I ran across bear tracks! No mistaking those for something else. Sure hope to not see the actual bear this time!! :)

So much for the half day snowmobiling....the conditions were awesome and snowmobiled all day Saturday and until 3:00 on Sunday. So much for the book!!!

I feel like a geriatric today....battered and bruised....but absolutely worth it as it was so much fun. I did some lightweight jumps (never done that before) and climbed a hill I would never have thought possible before. All these new experiences were possible this year thanks to the patience of friends who let me try things and never complained when I got stuck! It has been a great learning year!!

On Saturday the snowpole at Huckleberry was at 10 feet. But with the temperatures as high as they were, the snow is melting fast. The snow was down to the parking area in big patches on Saturday morning, but by Sunday night, most of it was gone. You will need to trailer up to the first intersection from now on, maybe further as the week progresses.
