I was asked by Ben to review the Alticity 6 video I won when the forum reached 75 members. Here it is...
I had prior to winning this movie only one other snowmobile movie that was given to me as a gift, and I haven't really seen any others. So read this review with that in mind.
Pros..
I appreciated most the powder/carving shots. They are seeded throughout the movie in generouse clumpings, one portion being a whole chapter. there is a chapter reserved for climbs. I am a purist backcountry rider, to whom powder is everything and a line without trees is left for those that have more hp than skill. But there were some pretty impressive climbs. You can even hear the rpm change when they start burning NOS.
The music I thought was well done. For the most part you heard more music than sled, but on the climbs etc. when you wanted to hear, it was there.
To be honest, I dont like rider interviews, waste of dvd space. No interview on this one. :)
Cons..
I am not a big fan of non snowmobiling shots in a snowmobile movie. There was not a significant amount, but I dont appreciate any. (riding bmx bikes, driving car in snow, drinking alchohol, shooting potato cannon) I am talking only 5 seconds or less each. No biggie.
The main movie is about 55 minutes long.
All in all, I would recommend this movie to anyone. There is content enough to get me through any tough summer withdrawl.
