I went up to Edison Sno-Park today and did a nice long hike. Had 8' of snow with about 6-8" of powder. Made for some great hiking. Ending up being the first one on the trail, so I was breaking the trail. Really kinda cool. As much as I like snowmobiling, its kinda nice to be able to get out and experiance nature on foot. Ended up going about 3-4 miles. Wasnt able to make it to the snow shelter, ran out of daylight. Hopefully I will be able to get back up there this week sometime. I encourage all who havent tried this to give it a shot. Its really enjoyable.

I ran across some snowshoers near Lake of the Woods about three weeks ago. It did look like fun. I had always planned to try it but haven't yet. I believe the Crater Lake Rangers used to take tourist on a snowshoeing trip for free. I wonder if they still do this.

It is quiet fun. Its a good workout though. As far as the Crater Lake Rangers, im not really sure. I imagine in an area like that they would do something along those lines.
